🧭 The hut at a glance
The Salbithütte stands at 2,105 m south-east of the Salbitschijen in the Göscheneralp valley, canton of Uri. Owned by the SAC Lindenberg section and known for its distinctive round dining room, it has been the base for the world-famous granite climbing on the Salbit since 1891. Around 3,000 overnight stays a year show just how popular the hut is; a major conversion is being planned that will expand it to 70 sleeping and dining places and add a new materials cableway.
