🧭 The hut at a glance
The Rothornhütte stands at 3,198 m in the Weisshorn group, below the south-east ridge of the Zinalrothorn, high above Zermatt in the canton of Valais. Built in 1948, the hut was completely rebuilt in 2023/24 by the SAC Lägern and Oberaargau sections and has offered a unique panorama ever since: the view sweeps across the Valais four-thousanders from the Dom and Monte Rosa to the Matterhorn.
