Rifugio Guide della Val d’Ayas, 3420 m

🧭 The hut at a glance

The Rifugio Guide della Val d’Ayas (also known as the Rifugio Lambronecca) stands at 3,420 m on the Rocce di Lambronecca, right beside the Grande Verra glacier in the Monte Rosa massif of the Pennine Alps, on the Italian side in the Aosta Valley. It is the highest hut in the Val d’Ayas. Conceived in the mid-1980s and opened in 1991, the modern building of stone, metal and timber is run as a family business by the local mountain guides’ association («Società Guide») – more a high-altitude mountain hotel than a classic refuge.
