🧭 The hut at a glance
The Lötschenpasshütte stands at 2,690 m on the historic pass between the Gasterntal (Kandertal, canton of Bern) and the Lötschental (canton of Valais) – a crossing that has been used for thousands of years. The privately run hut was extended in 2007/2008 and rebuilt to Minergie standard, the first hut in the Alps to use this ecological construction method. It is staffed in both summer and winter and, by mountain hut standards, feels almost like a small hotel.
