🧭 The hut at a glance
The Kröntenhütte sits at the very back of the wild and romantic Erstfeldertal at 1,903 m, embedded in an alpine raised bog at the foot of the Krönten and the Spannort. This tradition-rich hut of the SAC Gotthard section was inaugurated in 1890 and modernised and extended in 2014 without losing its original character. The Wyrsch family ran it for more than 46 years; a new hut team has recently taken over.
