🧭 The hut at a glance
The Bergseehütte stands at 2,370 m, some 600 m above the Göscheneralp reservoir in the canton of Uri, with a direct view of the Dammagletscher and the south face of the Bergseeschijen. It belongs to the SAC Angenstein section, was built in 1965/66 and refurbished and extended in 1987. As one of the best-known climbing huts in Switzerland it appears regularly on Swiss television. A full refurbishment is planned by 2028/29, which will raise the number of beds from 65 to 70.
